Welcome again to Greylands Ridge. Budburst was on time in October 2009. Season was a cooler one than 2008 but good fruit set and finished with a pleasant April that allowed us to pick the best fruit ever.
ROSE picked first in mid April. Plan to bottle around 160 cases this year. Aim for another dry style ROSE. Main crop picked end April and now in Oak. In general volume down but quality up from 2008.
Sales have been steady 2009-2010 tax year but you could do better! National Bank certainly hopes you will.
We now have a new dog, second hand from our daughter Kate.
HONEY is a 3 year old Border Terrier cross. Honey arrived in October, previously a city girl through and through but the first time she walked in the vineyard she ran down a rabbit. Instinct is amazing. Between HONEY and KATERINA our old cat they accounted for over 60 rabbits this season.
We are sponsoring Jane Kellahan for an Art exhibition in November in Wellington. Details soon.
The vineyard is now pruned and bedded down for the winter. We will shortly send out a Winter flyer and Email with some warming prices for winter imbibing. Remember all things in moderation.
Looking forward to Spring. We had 2 weeks in China (day job) but are home full time from July to December. Visitors are always welcome.
Kindest Regards
Patrick and Judy
